Captain America is a rarity of sorts in the modern blockbuster. There is no sense of postmodern reflection for frail Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) only a sense of duty that shines brighter than his translucently pale chest. Well, some trailer has finally figured out how to tease its 3-D aspects effectively. That said, this might be a hard-sell for those who don't think a reboot is necessary.
This looks absolutely astounding. And what a cast! Oldman, Firth, Hurt, Strong, Jared Harris. John Le Carre's works have always been good, but it looks like we have a film that will match its acclaim now.
There's almost zero chance (unless you're me) that you missed this before seeing the final chapter of the Potter saga, but for those of you who have, enjoy!
What an excellent cast! The film itself keeps bringing me back to Outbreak , but that can't be helped. Get ready to have your flu shots ready by September 9th.
